Work where the cargo moves
We build cargo software for airlines. You do not need to know anything about aviation or software when you start, because we teach you both. What we cannot teach is wanting to be in a warehouse at three in the morning while a flight closes.
The unglamorous part
Most software companies selling to airlines never see one. We spend a lot of time in cargo warehouses and at airports, which are hot, loud places where nothing waits for a deploy. That is where you find out what the software gets wrong.
It also means the job spills past its title. Our first goal is an airline that is happy with us and sometimes that has nothing to do with software: one associate rewrote the macros in a customer's spreadsheet and Jeff has redone a cargo manager's slides the night before they presented to their boss.

Three ways in
The work is different enough in each that they each get their own page.
Open roles
All of them need fluent English, because the team spans four countries and works in it all day. Everything else on a posting is a starting point rather than a filter.

Why people stay
Three reasons not to join Belli
We would rather you found this out here than in month two.
Where the work happens
- Singapore
- Headquarters, the associate programme and part of the product team. We work out of a co-working space and out of customer offices, usually in the building one or two days a week.
- Malaysia
- Product and the airline rollouts that run out of Kuala Lumpur.
- Indonesia
- Engineering, remote.
- Philippines
- Operations.
People here come from more than a dozen countries and most of them travel. Where depends on which airline needs someone: Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Abu Dhabi and Bangkok come up most often. One former associate worked with airlines in Morocco, Panama, Peru, Spain, Latvia and the Philippines inside a single programme.

Who you would be joining
Our story ›Belli is venture-backed and was founded by the people who ran the cargo technology team at AirAsia. Jeff Pan was Chief Product Officer of AirAsia's cargo business while its revenue grew from $50m to $220m in five years. He built the aviation logistics platform for SpaceX and the API connectivity for Booking.com, worked in aviation and logistics at McKinsey and has built and sold three companies. Alex Khor was a product manager on the same cargo business, a business analyst at Accenture and chief of staff at an edtech startup and studied molecular biology.
We won the Vercel AI Accelerator in San Francisco and the startup pitch competition at FutureTravel in Barcelona. Jeff gave the closing keynote on applications of AI in air cargo at the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Hong Kong, to a room of two thousand airline executives.
“We love empty space on airplanes that can be capitalized on. So the inspiring thing for me was applying AI to specific verticals that require expertise, that require a dedicated design, that require that you understand the customer and the audience. It just fits right in.”
Where people go afterwards
Not everyone stays and the ones who leave tend to land well. Former team members who came to us from other startups have gone on to:
- Goldman Sachs
- Amazon
- Citibank
- Expedia
- Zoom
- American Express
- LINE
- Xendit
How we hire
Three conversations, then an answer inside two weeks. The details differ by team, so each page states its own.
- 01Personal fit15 to 30 minutes
Your motivation and some situational questions. This one is about whether the way we work suits you.
- 02Technical30 minutes
With someone from the team you would join, held in English wherever they happen to sit.
- 03Founder30 to 60 minutes
Jeff or Alex, going through what is next on the roadmap and where your skills would land on it.
The one thing to prepare
Be ready to share your screen and walk us through the project you are most proud of. If it is something current and sensitive, make a copy and randomise the names and numbers first. There is nothing else to prepare. We use Google Meet, so test your microphone beforehand.
Tell us what you would want to own
Write to careers@belli.ai. Tell us what you have built and what you would want to work on. A CV is welcome but a link to something you made is worth more.
