A one-off charter and a repeating programme are commercially different. However, they are stored the same way.

Charters are quoted as a single figure rather than a rate per kilo plus surcharges.
Fuel indexes maintained separately
Charter pricing that moves with fuel needs an index to move against. Indexes are kept in one place and referenced by contracts.
