One cargo management system, run by real airlines, with a small team on it. Part of your onboarding happens at an airport, standing next to the people using what you wrote.

Remote, for people based in Indonesia or Malaysia. Full-time or part-time, rolling start. You need fluent English: most of the team is from somewhere else, so it is the working language, including in your interview.

Three openings

All three are open on a rolling basis. If you are strong on two of them, say so, because the team is small enough that it matters.

  • PostgreSQL

Nice to have: GORM, WebSocket.

Frontend Engineer

Nice to have: React, Tailwind.

Mobile Engineer

  • React Native

Nice to have: Expo, Flutter, SQLite.

Remote, but not at a distance

The team writes code from Indonesia and Malaysia and nobody is asked to relocate. What we do ask is that you see the operation. Onboarding puts you at a cargo terminal with the warehouse operators, because a requirement written down in a ticket loses most of what matters about it.

Cargo is booked late, often within a day of departure, so a release that breaks acceptance breaks somebody's shift. Sometimes that means worrying about your push at three in the morning. The upside is that the feedback loop is short and real: you can watch someone use the screen you shipped last week and see them get stuck.

How hiring works

Three calls on Google Meet, then an answer inside two weeks if the feedback is positive. There is no take-home exercise.

  1. 01
    Personal fit15 minutes

Your motivation and some situational questions, to see whether our culture and yours line up.

  2. 02
    Technical30 minutes

With someone from the engineering team. Your interviewer will most likely be Indonesian and the call is in English because the rest of the team is not.

  3. 03
    Co-founder30 to 60 minutes

Alex takes the last one. He will go through what is next on the roadmap and where your skills would fit against it.

The one thing to prepare

Be ready to share your screen and walk us through the project you are most proud of. If it is current work and the contents are sensitive, take a copy and randomise the contact details and any real numbers first. Beyond that, just show up.

After the interviews

Start part-timeAn offer usually comes in two parts: a full-time offer with the role and the package and a paid part-time one. Most engineers start at 10 to 20 hours a week, which shows both sides how the other thinks about a problem before anyone commits.
Then full-timeOnboarding runs about two weeks, in person: our internal systems, the cargo app, how cargo actually works and the codebase. Part of it is at the airport and with the warehouse operators.
Then it gets uncomfortableWe deliberately put engineers into stretching situations, which here means tight deadlines and talking to customers yourself. If you would rather only ever see a ticket, this will not suit you.
